Infrared saunas use different types of heaters causing waves from the infrared that heat the body directly, rather than from the air in a traditional sauna. The temperature in the room of an infrared sauna is usually much lower than a traditional sauna with temperatures from 110 degrees to 130 degrees. The lower temperatures are a benefit to people because they allow a person to remain in the sauna for longer periods of time. The longer the body can remain in the infrared cabins, the more they will sweat.
