When children get herpes of the mouth it's fairly safe to assume that they contracted it innocently, either by kissing a family member who had a sore or by exposure to another child who is carrying the virus. A lot of people who are infected with oral herpes fail to understand how easily transmittable it is via different modes of transfer such as sharing personal items such as towels or body fluid exchange like saliva from kissing.
