Many disabled children are generally sheltered from society and their judging ways. ( rightly so in my opinion) the world is hard enough for non disabled kids, let alone for children who struggle with adaptation and peer pressure. Most disabled kids also struggle with obtaining and keeping friendships. Depending on the disability to. I'm seeing more down syndrome infants and kids in this day and age than ever. As well as spina bifida, skeleton abnormalities and brain dysfunction conditions. I'm sure there's more, i just haven't been made aware of them. Finding help for both the parent and child is essential for learning and growth. I've noticed that dwarfism is on the rise, I'm not very tall so i can imagine how tough it is for these people. If i was any shorter i'd be considered a midget by medical terms. I always need my 14 yr old son to fetch me things from the cubboards, to put things away for me and to open jars for me. He's so much bigger that i am1 lol!
When it comes to interaction kids are just mean, making it nearly impossible for a disabled child to come out of their shell and be themselves. I hope all disabled kids can break free of their disability and not let it limit them. I have many disabilities, i recieve social security benefits so i know what it's like to be disabled.
